Aaliyah Daniel Haughton made her way into fame in 1994 when she released her debut album Age Ain't Anything But a Numer. At the age of 15 years old, the album earned Gold status. R. Kelly heavily influenced the group and helped bring the singer up to the top of the charts. In 1996, she debuted her second album One In A Million with Jermaine dupri and Timbaland. The album featured the hit number one track If Your Girl only was aware. Aaliyah's second album entitled One in a Million came out in the year 1996. It contained the number-one song, a huge hit, If Your Girl Only Knew. In 2000 she appeared on the screen in Romeo Must Die, a romance/action movie with Jet-Li. Joel Silver, the film producer, saw her at the awards ceremony and kindly offered her the part. Queen of the Damned was her first film role in 2002. The story is based on an Anne Rice novel. But, she has both Aarti Mann as well as Aarti Majumdar as her professional name. While her initial professional career was mostly dominated by small movie and TV roles, she gained more prominence in the mid-2000s. Her other notable projects include Grey's Anatomy, Suits and Leverage. She's also appeared in major commercials for brands like Volvo the world's largest auto maker. She lives in Los Angeles along with her spouse, daughter, and husband. She is also pursuing her acting career.
